Slip-Back Knives

A traditional folding pocket knife that was developed around the 1600s that does not lock mechanical. It uses a back-mounted spring to provide resistance that holds the blade open or closed.

There are various custom made leather sheaths available to carry your pocket knife on your belt.

Gentleman's Folder Knives

A slim elegant and non-intimidating folding pocket knife designed for everyday carry. It is lightweight and classy with a non-aggressive appearance.

Liner Lock Knives

A popular folding pocket knife featuring a self-adjusting side spring mechanism that engages the blade’s tang, allowing for easy one-handed opening and closing. The side spring lock the blade mechanically in the open position, and prevent the blade from closing during working.

Knife Blade Steel:

Good quality Stainless steel is mainly used for the blades namely Bohler N690, 12C27, 14C28, 440C, Elmax and M390. I do occasionally use 5160 Carbon steel to adhere to customers specifications.

Carbon Damascus is also often used which I obtained from reliable suppliers. Stainless steel Damascus ( Dammasteel ), manufactured in Sweden is also often used, although very expensive.

Handle Materials

In my opinion the handle material must compliment the knife. Some knife designs just call for extraordinary handle scales for instance Elephant Ivory, for which I have a Cites permit which allows me to possess, process and sell ivory.

Giraffe bone, various animal horns, Warthog and Hippo teeth are also very popular for handle scales. I like to use local and imported exotic woods which are properly dried and stabilised to prevent the wood from cracking.

A large variety of synthetic handle material are also available for a client for instance Carbon fibre, Honeycomb, Micarta or G10 in different colours.

NB.   I compare the ability to match an elegant handle scale to a knife, to the harmony of musical instruments being  played in an orchestra.

Additional services such as engraving and Scrimshaw can be arranged by professionals.

Every knife is issued with a certificate of authenticity.
